man I hope I do not crash my site again. I am doing this in stages so you may see some odd stuff in the next few weeks.

These are the photos I took t the Slam with my brand new toy. I am having to remove the date stamp off of most the stuff cause i did not even know I had one. Learning more Photoshop and Paint stuff. I think once I learn how to use it this camera will be great.

This is Ray doing his Poem about New Orleans

This is from the Haiku Competition where Ray came in 2nd.

More Haiku Competition Pics

I enjoyed the Haiku stuff a lot more than I would have expected.

Usually haiku are written in three lines. It's possible to do haiku in 2 lines though, as well as in one line or in more than three.5-7-5 syllables in 1st-2nd-3d lines.

This is Logic, he won the Haiku competition.

I disagree. But I do not know all the forms and rules of Haiku so I might just not get it. I just did not like his stuff as much.

More Haiku,

Some of them were funny and some of them were very sad.

There were a few Polictical Haiku also.

Have you noticed the headbands?

There were Red and Not Red headbands and flags. That is how the judges voted.

The Haiku comp was very ritualistic. But I do not know how much of that was traditional and how much was slam invented.

I don't know why but I love this shot. I want to make a t-shirt out of it.

More shots from the semi-finals

Nothing against the individual stuff, I liked it a lot; but my favorite performances were the group pieces.

Nuther Group

if I was good, and I am not, I would know where they were from, but I don't.

I really liked this shot I don't have a real specific reason.

Some of the poets were just basically screamers

but others had a lot of personality to their readings.
